In Psalms 37:11 we are told
“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”
This reminds me of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:5 which says:
“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”
To be meek means to be “quiet, gentle, and easily imposed on; submissive.” Another synonym for meek is obedient. But obedient to who? To God. God is saying that He desires for us to submit to Him and His will and when we do that not only will we inherit the earth but we shall delight in peace.
Today, as we write Psalms 37:11 on our hearts, let us ask God to help us to be meek.
