Psalms 37:6 -And He Shall

Today’s verse is simple and powerful.

Psalms 37:6 says,

“And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.”

What does that mean exactly?

First, the phrase “And He shall bring forth” is so powerful.  It is another reminder that God will fight our battles for us.  He will bring forth, not us.  He will do it!  It reminds me of II Chronicles 20:17:

“Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you”.

Second, when the Bible says “thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgement as the noonday” reminds me that while others might question why you do what you do, God will reveal the truth.   You don’t have to argue with anyone.

God’s word is so timely.  I am in the midst of a situation where I feel the need to defend myself.  This verse reminds me that I need to just let God do His thing “And He shall bring forth“.  I just need to humble myself and get out of His way.

Today, as we write Psalms 37:6 on our hearts, let us remember to let God fight the battles for us.
